As Chief Operating Officer at Valar, Brendan Gough leads the company’s operational execution, working across teams to ensure programs are delivered effectively and Valar’s strategic priorities are translated into action. He supports coordination across the organization, strengthens operational alignment, and works closely with the leadership team to support Valar’s continued growth.
Brendan brings extensive experience in international policy, regional affairs, and interagency coordination. Prior to joining Valar, he served in senior U.S. government roles focused on Africa and international security, including as Director for the Horn of Africa at the U.S. National Security Council.
Since 2008, Brendan has held roles in South Africa, Kenya, and Ethiopia, developing extensive experience across regional security, political affairs, policy coordination, and international development.
His combination of strategic leadership, operational experience, and deep regional knowledge supports Valar’s work across complex international environments.
