Joanna Block is Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder, and Owner of Valar, where she provides overall executive leadership and guides the company’s direction and continued growth. She works closely with Valar’s leadership team to strengthen the organization’s capabilities, deliver on commitments to clients and partners, and position the company for its next stage of development.
Before founding Valar, Joanna was CEO of Kiron Global Strategies, where she built and delivered international programs for clients including the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Defense, Millennium Challenge Corporation and U.K. Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
Throughout her career, Joanna has led complex initiatives in challenging environments, with expertise spanning political and economic stabilization, local economic development, and security sector reform. She brings extensive experience in executive leadership, organizational development, international program management, and partnerships to her role at Valar.
